VIRTUAL TOUR OF HUNGARY

Virtual tour of Hungary

Hungary is a Central eastern European country with rich history and culture. Its capital Budapest is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Europe due to its thermal spas, stunning location along the river Danube, mixed architecture, and frenetic nightlife. Hungary has famous wine regions, different types of paprika to make your food delicious, and “palinka” (strong local spirit) to digest after your meal. If you want some rest in summer, head to the Balaton, one of the biggest lakes in Europe with countless activities. Plus, there are more things and famous related to Hungary than you would think about. But let me tell you more about this virtual tour of Hungary.

How does it work?

After booking the tour through CultureQuest, you get a link to join the zoom meeting at the time of the tour, where your tour guide (me) is waiting for you. It is a live online tour, which means you will have the chance to ask questions. There are no taboos; I’m open to answering any questions.

I used photos and video clips during the virtual tour to present Hungary split into different themes.

Here you can book your virtual of Hungary and select the date in the calendar. It usually takes place once a month.

Who is your tour guide during the virtual tour?

I’m Agnes, born and raised in Hungary. I went to university in Budapest, worked there, and got my official tour guiding license in Hungary. Later, I started working as an international tour guide in Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, with my basing remaining in Hungary.

For whom is this tour recommended

Of course, getting a first-hand experience is the best way to discover a country. However, this virtual tour of Hungary can inspire you to visit the country as your next travel destination if you do not know much about it. Or maybe you have been to Hungary and want to recall your memories. Many people of Hungarian origins live abroad, whose ancestors immigrated to other countries decades ago. It can be an interesting way for the younger members of such families to get to know their family roots. Your health problems and current financial situation may prevent you from reaching this destination. Or, you are on maternity leave with less freedom to travel but you miss traveling at least virtually during this time.

Maybe, you do not have the opportunity to travel to Hungary, but you are interested to know more about that.

All the above give sufficient reason to participate in a virtual tour of Hungary.

Price and duration of the virtual tour of Hungary

It takes one and a half hours and costs 12 AUD (~8USD)

What is the virtual tour of Hungary about?

It is not a live city tour of Budapest but rather a complex introduction to Hungary where we dig deeper a bit into Hungarian identity. I won’t introduce one city or a district of that, but rather let you understand the mentality of Hungarians and the decisive events and periods of the past and present. However, at the same time, you still get an overview of the main attractions of Budapest and the Hungarian culture.
