TUNISIA

Why Tunisia?

Tunisia is part of the “Maghreb,” the westernmost countries of the Arab world, with Algeria and Morocco in North Africa. It is at the crossroads of European, Arabic, and African cultures, probably the most Westernized Arab country, thanks to the deliberate politics of its political leaders. Tunisia is different from other Arb countries in the Middle East, such as Lebanon, Iraq or Jordan.

Tunisia welcomed millions of visitors as one of the best-value destinations in the Mediterranean. However, things changed after the deadly attacks in 2015 at the Bardo Museum and the tourist resort at Port El Kantaoui, with several tourists among the victims. After that, Tunisia’s tourism slowly recovered.

Tourism being an essential source of income in the economy means there is a well-established touristic infrastructure in the country with a range of local tours, hotels of every budget, and several airports. The cities are well-connected with public transport (train, bus or “louage”).

Tunisia is mainly known for its beach resorts, with a chain of hotels offering all-inclusive holidays for sunseekers, but there is so much more to see: charming villages, ancient ruins, religious sites, and the desert oasis with unique landscape and architecture. Since Tunisia has so much to offer, it is an all-year exotic destination close to Europe.
